The name "Pua" means flower in Hawaiian. The Hawaiian flowers have been the source of inspiration for Sue's work. Sue's studied photography originally in California in the 70's where she discovered her love of the wildflowers close-up. On the island of Hawaii, known as the "Orchid Isle", where she has lived for the last 6 years, the flowers have taken her to new levels of creative expression.
Hawaii is filled with such beauty around every corner that the awesome scenery quickly caught Sue's attention and became an important part of her work. The majesty of the lava flow is so exciting to witness and shoot that Sue now offers her unique perspective on it as well.
Sue uses only natural lighting, without any computer enhancements, to capture the true depth of color, beauty and power nature has to offer. These high quality photographs are produced at a professional lab on Fuji Crystal Archive paper.
